CISTeC - Research Centre
The Research Center in Science and Technology for the Conservation of historical-architectural heritage (CISTeC) was born in 1994 and consists of experts from different faculties and departments (Civil and Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Literature and Philosophy) in University of Rome Sapienza. They have specific skills and attitudes that create multidisciplinary approaches to problems relating to the conservation and restoration of monuments, archaeological sites and museums.
The CISTeC is headquartered in the historic complex of the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of St. Peter in Chains.
The CISTeC is engaged in European research projects, international and national. It also performs an intense technological consultancy in favor of public and private institutions, in areas ranging from cultural heritage, the environment, the materials and raw materials.
